What this plugin does
The Administration cockpit provides one entry point for daily administration. Three tiles also show current read-only KPIs. The Support and handbooks tile opens the shared LernHive help hub.
Who this is for
| Role | Use |
|---|---|
| Platform administration | Open the cockpit and continue to an administrative task. |
| Site administrator (eLeDia) | Make the entry point and optional target plugins available. |
The entry page requires View Administration cockpit. Target pages apply their own capabilities as well.
Core concepts
A tile is an entry point to the surface that owns an administration task. A KPI is a read-only snapshot calculated when the page opens.
Journeys by role
Platform administration: open an administration task
- Open Administration cockpit from Moodle administration.
- Select People, Support and handbooks, Organisation, Courses and enrolments, Participant groups, Participant status, Reports, Mail texts, or Setup.
- Complete the task in the opened Moodle or LernHive surface.
- Return to Administration cockpit to start another task.
The Setup tile opens the flavour setup, where you choose the flavour as the starting point of the site. Its action icons open the Configuration cockpit and, for site administrators, the Custom handbooks of the help hub. Each target needs its own permission; without the flavour permission the tile opens the configuration cockpit.
When a brand colour is set in Boost Union, the Setup tile also shows Brand colour on white with its contrast ratio. Below 4.5:1 a warning explains that text and buttons in the brand colour are hard to read on white; LernHive does not change the colour, adjust it in the Boost Union settings.
When ContentHub is installed and you have its course-creation permission, the Courses and enrolments tile also offers Guided course creation as a direct action icon.
Course managers with local/lernhive_admincockpit:resetpassword also see Send password reset emails in the People tile. The page lists only users enrolled in courses they manage. OIDC users are marked as managed in the member portal and have no reset action.
Platform administration: interpret KPIs
- Open Administration cockpit.
- Read Active users, Courses without completion, and Queued mails when shown.
- Open the related tile to investigate the value in its owning surface.
Tile actions use compact icon buttons. Hover or focus an icon to see its localized action label; keyboard and screen-reader users receive the same label through the control's accessible name. Their action colour follows the active Moodle theme, including the configured Boost Union primary colour.
Site administrator (eLeDia): provide the cockpit
- Open Site administration → Plugins → Local plugins.
- Open Administration cockpit to reach its entry page.
- Grant Platform administration View Administration cockpit in the system context.
- Install or enable optional target plugins when their tiles or KPIs are required.
Settings that matter
The cockpit has no customer-adjustable settings. Tiles and KPIs depend on installed plugins and capabilities on target pages.
Limitations
- The cockpit is a routing surface only.
- It stores no user, course, group, mail or KPI data.
- It has no forms for editing records and grants no target-page permissions.
- Missing optional providers hide their tile or KPI.
Troubleshooting
The cockpit is not visible. Check View Administration cockpit in the system context.
A tile is missing. Check the optional provider plugin and the capability for its target surface.
A KPI is missing. Check whether Reporting or Notifications is installed and available; missing sources are intentionally hidden.
The target page denies access. Request the capability required by that owning surface. The cockpit does not bypass it.
