Glossary
LernHive Glossary
LernHive uses a deliberate, consistent vocabulary. This page defines the most important terms — for procurement teams, design briefs and onboarding. We change terms very deliberately; in conflict with Moodle standard terminology, the LernHive term that has been shared with users wins by default.
Audience
Rule-based audience — static or dynamic — based on profile fields, time and activity.
Bookmark
"Save for later" — an explicit reading list, separate from Follow, no automatic behaviour.
Community
Shared space where learners with a common interest follow content, post and discuss.
ContentHub
Unified entry screen for content creation — orchestrates Copy, Library, AI without its own logic.
Explore
Discovery landing page that replaces the dashboard in the LXP Flavour — four feed blocks, no like noise.
Flavour
Starting profile for a LernHive instance that pre-configures suitable building blocks, language and UX decisions.
Follow
Relationship to a piece of content: updates and feed relevance. Different from Bookmark.
Launcher
App grid next to the user menu with the areas and actions available to a person.
Learning Pathway
Sequence-centric curriculum with steps, prerequisites, due dates and visibility windows.
Level
Five-stage system (Explorer → Master) that controls feature visibility per teacher.
LXP — Learning Experience Platform
Learning environment that activates learners through personalised discovery — rather than assigned mandatory courses.
Snack
Small, focused learning unit format (10–30 min) without sections — one click in, one click done.
