Immediate attention

The LernHive Immediate attention Dashboard block gathers the signed-in learner's urgent learning items: overdue and due-soon items and recent feedback. Each row opens the page that owns the item.

What this plugin does

The LernHive Immediate attention Dashboard block gathers the signed-in learner's urgent learning items: overdue and due-soon items and recent feedback. Each row opens the page that owns the item.

The block is no longer offered for new placements. The LernHive My Learning block shows the same rows on the Dashboard.

On the page the block heading reads Immediate attention; Add a block and the plugin list name it LernHive Immediate attention.

LearnerOpen personal urgent learning items from the Dashboard.
Platform administrationRemove a block placed earlier if the Dashboard shows the rows twice.

Core concepts

An urgent item is a row supplied by the system that owns it: an overdue or soon-due course activity, a learning pathway, certification or seminar date, or a grade received in the last 14 days (New feedback).

Journeys by role

Learner: open an urgent item

  1. Open your Dashboard.
  2. Review the rows in the block. Overdue and due-soon items come first, by date; up to two New feedback rows follow.
  3. Select a row to open the activity, course or page it belongs to.
  4. If there is nothing urgent, the block shows You're all caught up — "No overdue or due-soon activities."

Platform administration: blocks placed earlier

The block cannot be added any more: it is missing from Add a block. A block that is already on a Dashboard keeps working.

  1. Open the Dashboard that shows the block and turn editing on.
  2. If the LernHive My Learning block on the same Dashboard already shows the rows, delete the LernHive Immediate attention block through its actions menu.

Settings that matter

None. The block has no settings, and a Dashboard holds at most one instance.

Limitations

  • The block appears only on the Dashboard.
  • It stores no data and cannot edit, dismiss or complete rows.
  • Due dates, grades, ordering and target pages come from Moodle or the owning LernHive plugin.
  • New instances cannot be added; use LernHive My Learning instead.

Troubleshooting

The block cannot be added. → This is intended. Use the LernHive My Learning block, which shows the same rows.

No rows are shown. → Check whether the learner has overdue or soon-due items or a grade from the last 14 days. → Rows of a learning pathway, certification or seminar only appear when the plugin that owns them is installed.
