Journeys by role

Learner: see what needs attention

  1. Open your Dashboard.
  2. In Immediate attention you see up to three due dates: learning paths due within 14 days, certificates expiring within 30 days, seminar sessions and course deadlines within 14 days. Overdue items come first and read Overdue since ….
  3. If more dates are waiting, click Show more (n) to expand them.
  4. Below the dates, New feedback rows show gradings of the last 14 days.
  5. With nothing due the panel reads You're all caught up.
  6. Click a row to open the learning path, certificate, seminar or activity.

Learner: continue where you left off

  1. In Continue learning, click Continue: {course} to reopen the course you used last and have not completed yet.
  2. My progress shows your largest competency gaps, the steps done in your learning paths and links to Skill profile and Choose learning goals. If you have not rated yourself yet, start with Start your skill check-in.

Learner: find your courses, seminars and saved items

  1. My Courses lists your courses with tabs, sorting, search and view switch; View all my courses opens Moodle's course overview.
  2. My Seminars lists your seminar bookings; Browse seminars opens the catalogue filtered to in-person and hybrid seminars.
  3. My Bookmarks lists your saved courses and activities. Click the × icon on a row to remove the bookmark; View all opens your full list.
  4. Reservations lists your seminar reservations; View all opens them on the bookmarks page. The section appears only on sites that offer reservations (with Seminar Management); without reservations of your own it reads No reservations yet.
  5. Next dates lists your next five seminar sessions and course deadlines; use the calendar icon (Add to calendar (ics)) to save a seminar session to your own calendar.

Learner: get a recommendation

  1. Recommended for you shows up to six offerings you are not enrolled in, each with a reason such as Closes a skill gap, Mandatory training or Editorially recommended.
  2. Open a card to see the offering's details.

Learner: search the Dashboard

  1. Type into Search your dashboard. Cards and rows that do not match are hidden while you type.
  2. If nothing matches, the Dashboard shows No matches on your dashboard. and offers Search the catalogue with the same term.

Trainer: create from the Dashboard

  1. If you may create courses, Snacks or office hours, the left column shows Create as teacher with up to three shortcuts: Create course, Create Snack, Add office hours.
  2. A shortcut opens the create page of its area; nothing is created until you finish there.

Platform administration: create for Seminar Managers

  1. People who coordinate seminars or manage audiences see Create for Seminar Managers: Create seminar template, Create Run, Create Audience.
  2. Create Run opens the Seminar overview, because a Run is created inside its Seminar.
  3. You only see the shortcuts you have the rights for.

Site administrator: place the block and choose the mode

  1. On installation the block places itself on the default Dashboard. Users who customised their Dashboard before keep their layout; reset Dashboards under Appearance → Default Dashboard page, or let users add the block via Add a block.
  2. Under Site administration → Plugins → Blocks → LernHive My Learning choose Dashboard mode: Normal Mode — curated dashboard or AI-Mode — session hero on top, curated surface below. AI tutor URL adds an Ask the tutor suggestion in AI-Mode; leave it empty to hide it.

Site administrator: maintain news and the section order

  1. Open Site administration → Plugins → Local plugins → LernHive → General settings, section Learner start page.
  2. News and notices takes one teaser per line; the News section shows only while a teaser is valid.
  3. Start page section order takes one section key per line, top first. Sections you leave out keep their place after the listed ones.

What a section contains is decided by the plugin that owns the data and by your permissions there.

Limitations

  • The block shows data from other plugins; it never creates or changes learning data.
  • Immediate attention loads at most 10 dates and shows 3 at first.
  • My Seminars and the seminar count only appear once the site offers at least one published seminar or you have seminar bookings.
  • Recommended for you never fills up with arbitrary courses; it stays hidden when nothing qualifies.
  • The block can only be placed on Dashboard pages, once per page.
  • Dashboards customised before installation are not changed automatically.

Troubleshooting

A section is missing. → Panels without content are hidden (for example Next dates without dates, My progress without competencies or learning paths). My Seminars needs a published seminar or own bookings.

No create shortcuts appear. → Each shortcut needs the right in its area (course creation, Snack, office hours, seminar planning, audience management).

A user does not see the block at all. → The user customised the Dashboard before the block was installed. Add it via Add a block, or reset Dashboards.
