What this plugin does
The LernHive Welcome wizard block shows a welcome banner on the Dashboard for people your site wants to introduce to LernHive. One click starts a short guided introduction to the most important places.
Who this is for
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Learner | Starts, finishes, skips or dismisses the welcome (any member of the welcome audience) |
| Site administrator | Places the block and configures audience and texts in Onboarding |
Journeys by role
Learner: go through the welcome
- Open your Dashboard. If you belong to the welcome audience and have not finished the welcome yet, the banner shows the heading (by default Welcome to your LernHive site) and the button Start welcome.
- Click Start welcome. Move through the slides with Back and Next.
- Finish with Finish welcome, or choose Do not show the introduction again. Both return you to the Dashboard, and the banner disappears.
- To hide only the banner, use the close control (Dismiss onboarding banner). You can find the welcome again in Onboarding.
Site administrator: place and configure the welcome
- On the default Dashboard page, switch on Edit mode and add LernHive Welcome wizard via Add a block. It can only be placed on Dashboard pages, once per page.
- Audience, banner heading, introduction, button label and slides are set in the Onboarding configuration (Welcome audience: site administrators and users with selected system roles).
Settings that matter
The block has no settings. Everything is configured in Onboarding.
Limitations
- Only users in the welcome audience with an open welcome see the banner.
- After finishing, skipping or dismissing, the block stays empty for that person.
- Dashboard pages only, once per page; no block title.
- Guests and logged-out users see no content.
Troubleshooting
The banner does not appear. → The block may not be on your Dashboard, you may be outside the welcome audience, or you already finished, skipped or dismissed the welcome. Ask your site administrator.
The block area stays empty for everyone. → The welcome audience is empty, or the welcome has no slides; check the Onboarding configuration.
