Building block · local_lernhive_seminarmanagement
Plan, book and operate seminars cleanly.
An organisation layer above Moodle courses: offering templates, offerings, dates, rooms, trainers, catalogue, waitlists and explainable operational work.
Overview
The organisation layer above the course.
Seminar Management deliberately stays out of the activity-module layer. Moodle manages learning; LernHive manages offerings, dates, rooms, trainers, capacities, waitlists, cancellation processes, catalogue visibility and the handoff to Reporting and Certify.

Core features
What the building block offers.
Offering templates → offerings → dates
Templates provide defaults; concrete offerings inherit them and receive one or more dates.
Catalogue & My seminars
Learners find bookable offerings in the catalogue and track their own bookings in a calm overview.
Rooms, resources, trainers
Room requirements, equipment, trainer assignments and conflict hints become plannable instead of hidden in free text.
Booking & waitlist
Capacity, status, cancellation reasons and waitlists stay auditable and usable for reporting.
Evidence handoff
Attendance and evidence status can be handed off to Reporting and Certify; certificate rules remain in the Certify building block.
Seminar Manager work plans
Accountable seminar managers, workflow snapshots and lifecycle reconciliation are live; the personal task surface follows.
How it works
From template to live seminar.
-
Maintain offering template
Define topic, defaults, course linkage, feedback template and resource needs once.
-
Plan offering and dates
Create the concrete offering, set dates, check rooms and trainers, then publish.
-
Book and operate
Learners book in the catalogue; coordinators manage waitlists, cancellations, resources and active work.
-
Report and evidence
Bookings, attendance, no-shows and evidence flow into Reporting and, where needed, Certify.
One model for operations
Topic, booking and slot remain stable technical contracts; users see offering template, offering and date.

Work stays explainable
Lifecycle events do not silently delete tasks: they are historised as not applicable, aborted or withdrawn.

FAQ
Common questions.
Is the building block also for internal training?
Yes. Internal mandatory training especially benefits from catalogue, capacities, waitlists, one accountable owner per offering and seminar reporting.
How do we handle no-shows?
No-shows become visible in seminar operations and are analysed in Reporting. Cancellation and attendance information remain separately traceable.
What proofs are generated?
Seminar Management provides attendance and status signals. PDF certificates, verification codes and learning records live in the Certify building block, which can use seminar attendance as a source.
