Building block · local_lernhive_skills
Competencies you can see.
Skill profile, gap analysis and learning paths — as a clear surface on a proven competency framework.
Overview
Competencies — finally understandable.
The Skills building block makes competencies usable day-to-day: a skill profile for learners, gap analysis for managers, recommendations in the Explore feed. Underneath runs a proven competency framework — what you see is a friendly, clear surface.

Core features
What the Skills building block brings.
Skill profile
Learners see their competencies, their progress and the next tier — one clear card per skill.
Gap analysis
Managers compare 'should' and 'is' in the team. Gaps are presented as recommendations.
Learning-path import
Learning plans appear as coherent paths — with progress and due dates.
Explore recommendations
Courses matching the skill gap are highlighted in the Explore feed.
Badges & evidence
A completed skill can automatically trigger a badge or certificate.
Manager assignments
Managers assign skill targets, respecting the Orgchart structure.
How it works
From skill target to progress.
-
Import framework
Existing competency framework or newly modelled — both work.
-
Set up skill profile
For each user, the building block shows current and targeted competencies.
-
Recommendations
Gaps surface as matching courses in the Explore feed.
-
Progress & evidence
On completion, the skill is marked achieved automatically and a badge is issued.
For learners: clarity
Instead of 'competencies somewhere', a clear profile with progress rings and a next step.

For managers: overview
Gap analysis shows at a glance which skills the team lacks — and which courses help.

FAQ
Common questions.
Do I need an existing competency framework?
No — start small: 3–5 skills as a pilot. The building block scales along.
How do skills differ from badges?
Badges are evidence. Skills describe the learning state — the badge is optional, the skill is the structure.
Can I connect external competency frameworks?
Planned — R2 ships CSV import, later releases move toward CASE/IMS standards.
