Documentation — LernHive user guides

Each guide describes one LernHive building block from the user's perspective: what it does, who it is for and how the key journeys work.

Administration cockpit

The Administration cockpit provides one entry point for daily administration. Three tiles also show current read-only KPIs. The Support and handbooks tile opens the shared LernHive help hub.

Appointments

Appointments lets people offer time for conversations — recurring office hours, a single day or a link to an external booking page — and lets invited or eligible people book it. The appointment appears in both Moodle calendars, and confirmations, reminders …

Bookmarks and course progress

The Bookmarks and course progress block sits on a course page and answers two questions at a glance: how far am I in this course, and do I want to save it for later? It shows a progress ring and bar based on the course's completion settings, plus a one-click …

Boost Union

Boost Union is the theme of LernHive. It provides the look and the base navigation of the platform: logo and colours, top navigation, login page, footer, block regions and Smart Menus. LernHive ships it unchanged except for a few small additions.

Continue learning

The LernHive Continue learning Dashboard block shows up to four courses you opened recently and have not finished yet, so you can pick up where you left off. If no course qualifies, it links to the learning catalogue.

Customer Portal

The Customer Portal gives site administrators one place to see how their Moodle installation is doing: users and load, storage, Moodle version, system health and the installed additional plugins. It also shows the support routes of your hosting partner and …

Explore

Explore is the discovery surface of the LXP Flavour: one calm page where learners find relevant Courses, Snacks and Communities. The page shows the sections Communities, Snacks and More to explore (Courses), each with at most six cards, built from visible …

Immediate attention

The LernHive Immediate attention Dashboard block gathers the signed-in learner's urgent learning items: overdue and due-soon items and recent feedback. Each row opens the page that owns the item.

In my area

The In my area block shows which people from your courses are online near the town you chose. Sharing your town is voluntary and can be undone at any time.

Learning Catalogue

The Learning Catalogue block brings the LernHive learning catalogue to a Moodle Dashboard or the site front page. It shows either a compact preview of up to nine offerings or the complete catalogue with filter rail, quick picks and all results. On the front …

LernHive Audiences

Audiences let administrators group users by rules or manual membership — without maintaining Moodle cohort membership by hand. You define the criteria once; LernHive keeps the membership up to date on the configured schedule, and every Audience is projected …

LernHive Bookmark

LernHive Bookmark gives every learner a personal list of saved learning items. One click saves a course, an activity or a catalogue offering; the list and the Dashboard bring you back to it later. A second tab shows your seminar reservations when Seminar …

LernHive Care

Care shows trainers who in their courses needs attention right now, based on the predictions Moodle's own learning analytics already produce, and lets them act from the same page: message the learner, offer an appointment, add a note, mark the signal as …

LernHive Certify

A Moodle Privacy deletion request removes the user's certification assignments, periods, dependency records, requests, external evidence, and generated files. Certification definitions remain configuration, while actor references on them are pseudonymised.

LernHive Community format

The LernHive Community format is a course format for community spaces: courses that act as shared, topic-based places rather than linear trainings. A course using this format is organised into a Community overview section followed by numbered Community topic …

LernHive Configuration

The cockpit opens as Configuration | Manage instance settings in the shared default-width shell. This keeps the page readable at narrow viewports while Moodle's native navigation remains available.

LernHive ContentHub

ContentHub answers the question "How do I start a new course or learning activity?" It is one entry page with cards for course paths — create, copy, use a template, import from the managed Library, or find reusable material — and a course-template copy path. …

LernHive Context Helper

The standalone page uses a readable-width shared shell. Its Zone-A identity is localized as Context Helper with a short description of the current-context suggestions.

LernHive demo data

LernHive demo data fills a disposable LernHive site with a realistic product demo: a course catalogue with ten courses, learners, trainers, enrolment examples and real learning activity. With one profile it also installs the demo data of the other LernHive …

LernHive Engage

Engage shows who from your courses is online right now, with teachers listed separately. If you choose to share a town, it also shows people online near you and a map of places with online people — never the position of a person.

LernHive EU AI Act compliance

LernHive Flavour

LernHive KVBW

LernHive Moodle Core handbook

LernHive Moodle Core handbook adds step-by-step handbooks for Moodle's own features to the LernHive Help Hub, for example courses, enrolments, quizzes and the gradebook. Each handbook links to its MoodleDocs source and, where LernHive offers one, starts a …

LernHive Notifications

Notification management pages use the shared shell at default or reading widths. The course-level invitation/reminder page navigates through the section nav; use the course's own navigation to return to the course. Since SUI-995 the course invitations …

LernHive Platform Core

LernHive Platform Core turns Moodle into a focused learning platform. It provides the learning catalogue with a course detail page and booking flow, the five-step level system that unlocks trainer features progressively, the LernHive menus in the top …

LernHive profile fields

LernHive profile fields exchanges the values of Moodle's custom user profile fields as a CSV file. You can download all values, edit them in a spreadsheet and upload them again. Every upload is checked first and shown as a preview; nothing is written until …

LernHive Reporting

LernHive Reporting is a calm entry point for the most common reporting questions: how many people are in a course, which courses are the most popular, who has completed what, how seminars are running and how feedback compares across courses. It presents …

LernHive Seminar Management

Manager pages keep explanatory guidance behind the Moodle Core ? help icon next to the relevant heading. This keeps the workflow compact while preserving the same guidance for keyboard and assistive-technology users.

LernHive Skills

Skills shows every learner which skills their current role requires, where they stand today, and which learning content closes the gap. It builds on Moodle core competencies: role targets, self and manager ratings, and learning evidence are combined into a …

LernHive Snack format

The LernHive Snack format is a course format for short, lightweight learning units — "Snacks" with an expected effort of roughly 10 to 30 minutes. A Snack is one list of at most three activities, without sections, so it stays small, linear and easy to finish …

LernHive WBT format

The LernHive WBT format turns a course into exactly one PDF training (web based training). Everyone who opens the course lands directly in the training viewer; there is no course page to click through.

My bookmarks

The My bookmarks block lists your most recently saved courses and activities on the Moodle Dashboard, so you can return to them with one click.

My Courses

The list appears as the My Courses section of the LernHive My Learning block. The standalone LernHive My Courses block is no longer offered under Add a block; a block placed earlier keeps working.

My Learning

The My Learning block turns the Moodle Dashboard into the learner's daily starting point. The left column shows what needs attention, where to continue and how far you have come; the main column lists your courses, seminars and saved items and suggests what …

My learning pathways

The LernHive My learning pathways Dashboard block lists your active learning pathways with their progress and links to your pathway overview.

My Seminars

Redeem a registration code

You can also open another person's profile and choose Video call.

Welcome wizard

The LernHive Welcome wizard block shows a welcome banner on the Dashboard for people your site wants to introduce to LernHive. One click starts a short guided introduction to the most important places.
